Windows 10 End of Life - What you need to know

Windows 10 End of Life Approaching

Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 10 will officially reach its End of Life (EOL) on 14 October 2025. After this date, the operating system will no longer receive security updates, bug fixes, or feature enhancements from Microsoft.

While Windows 10 devices will remain functional beyond this point, they will become increasingly vulnerable to cyber threats due to the lack of security patches. The EOL applies to all versions of Windows 10, except for long-term servicing channel (LTSC) releases, which will continue to receive updates for an extended period.

Why You Should Prepare Now

To maintain security and ensure access to the latest features, Microsoft strongly advises users to upgrade to Windows 11 or a newer version before the EOL deadline. Without ongoing updates, businesses and individual users risk exposure to security vulnerabilities, performance issues, and potential compatibility challenges with newer software and hardware.

Windows 11 builds on the power and security of Windows 10 while introducing a modern, refreshed interface and a range of new tools, sounds, and applications. However, some Windows 10 features may not be available in Windows 11 - full details can be found in the Windows 11 Specifications.

Next Steps

If you’re currently using Windows 10, now is the time to assess your upgrade strategy. Planning ahead will help you avoid disruption and ensure a seamless transition.
